 DANCER

choreographer

Katie Corrao, began her early dance training at Seven Star School of Performing Arts in both contemporary and commercial disciplines of dance. In 2020, Katie decided to pursue a BFA in Dance Performance at Montclair State University with an artistic scholarship. While at Montclair, Katie had the privilege to work with artists such as, Bradley Shelver, Larry Kiegwin, Janice Rosario, Stephanie Battan Blan and Michelle Manzanales.

In 2022, Katie transferred into the BFA Contemporary Dance Program at The Boston Conservatory to receive a more contemporary approach to dancing. While at her time at Boston Conservatory, Katie had the honor to perform in works, "Unsung" José Limòn, "Crepuscular Call" Thang Dao, "Collide" Loni Landon, "Suite Wonder" Ruka Hatua-Saar White, "Marigold and Starshine" Crystal Perkins and "Renaissance" Lila Kushner.

Katie has also received additional education with Boston Dance Theatre, Dance Italia The Orlando Ballet School, Complexions Contemporary Ballet Academy, The Limon Company, The Martha Graham Company, Paul Taylor Dance Company and The Joffery Ballet.

Throughout the past eight years, Katie has found her most authentic means of expression through choreography. This love for creating influenced Katie to pursue a BFA in dance at Montclair State University where, Katie premiered “All We Sacrifice” (2022) and “What Remains” (2021) on the Alexander Kasser Stage.

In 2022, Katie's studies landed her at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee where she declared a choreographic emphasis. In 2024, Katie curated and catapulted her company KTCO The Company while in her senior year. KTCO had its debut on the Boston Conservatory MainStage in, "We Remain Bound... Our End is Near." Katie extended this work into an evening length titled, "An Ode To" that premiered in April of 2024.

In addition to collegiate works, Katie travels to numerous dance studios to set competitive routines on students and has received regional and national recognition for her work. Katie will graduate with an emphasis in choreography from the Conservatory in June of 2024 and looks forward to continuing making choreographic work that challenges societal structures.
